Priorities
Affordable Education | Student Success | Community Driven
Washtenaw Community College (WCC) has been an integral part of my life from a very young age. My parents and grandmother took classes at WCC when they immigrated from Ukraine, and their experiences inspired me to follow in their footsteps. I attended high school and college at WCC, earning both my high school diploma and an associate degree. This institution has been a cornerstone in my educational journey, providing me with the tools and opportunities to succeed.
For nearly the past two years, I have had the honor of serving on the WCC Board of Trustees. During this time, I have focused on keeping our tuition affordable, supporting student success, and engaging with our community. I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to achieve their educational goals, and I have dedicated myself to creating an environment that supports their journey. WCC serves as a vital gateway to our community, offering an array of valuable resources to the residents of Washtenaw County.
I have worked tirelessly to ensure that WCC remains affordable and accessible, recognizing that financial barriers should not stand in the way of education. I have advocated for programs and resources that support student success, from academic advising to career services, ensuring that every student has the support they need to thrive. Prior to my time on the WCC Board of Trustees, I chaired the WCC Foundation where our main focus was supporting students in tuition scholarships and providing emergency grants for unexpected expenses.
Running for the WCC Board of Trustees is a continuation of my lifelong commitment to this institution. I am passionate about making sure that WCC is a place where every student can succeed. With your support, I will continue to champion initiatives that put students first, helping them to achieve their dreams and build a brighter future.
